NTT DATA, a leading digital business and IT services provider, has launched its Smart AI Agent, an advanced tool designed to drive the adoption of Generative AI across industries. The Smart AI Agent is set to generate $2 billion in revenue by 2027 and will transform business operations by autonomously extracting, organizing and executing tasks based on user instructions. This AI solution will help companies enhance productivity, streamline workflows and quickly deploy Generative AI applications.
The Smart AI Agent’s key capabilities include task planning, which automates complex workflows by breaking them into smaller, manageable tasks and multi-agent collaboration, where multiple AI agents work together to improve workflow efficiency. Additionally, the tool employs Advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to search internal corporate data, improving the quality of results. It also generates validation data from business documents to optimize operational processes. Starting in March 2025, the tool will include User-in-the-Loop (UITL) capabilities to continuously refine and improve workflows based on user feedback.
Already, the Smart AI Agent is being used across various sectors. In the automotive industry, it is enhancing the efficiency of DevOps data analysis. In banking, it is improving regulatory reporting processes and in the energy sector, it is optimizing the marketing cycle for a major gas manufacturer. These applications demonstrate the AI agent’s potential to benefit a wide range of industries. NTT DATA will initially launch the Smart AI Agent in the US, China and several European countries, with plans for wider global availability later. The solution will be offered in both public and private cloud environments to meet the security needs of businesses, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
