Murata Electronics Americas in partnership with Google has created the world’s smallest artificial intelligence (AI) module named Coral Accelerator Module. It is the custom-designed module that includes Google’s Edge TPU ASIC within a miniaturized footprint. The solution ensures to deliver superior noise suppression and simplify printed circuit board design in a smaller footprint thereby overcoming some of the most pressing challenges in implementing AI solutions. The key feature of the module is miniaturization which is vital as all board space must be optimized to achieve highly robust functionality in space-constrained operations.
The solution speeds up the algorithmic calculations required to execute AI. With this Coral Accelerator Module, Murata has delivered an important building block for the AI Edge ecosystem. From manufacturing to healthcare to agriculture, Coral enables new applications of on-device AI across many industries. By coming up with this Coral Accelerator Module which includes Google Edge TPU (available in a robust, solderable, and easy-to-integrate package), Murata has targeted prospective customers thereby increasing the number of people interested in including Coral intelligence inside their products in more environments.
